Shawn Porter has called on Floyd Mayweather to fight the winner of his weekend world title contest with Keith Thurman.
Thurman defends his WBA welterweight belt and his unbeaten record against his friend Porter in Brooklyn on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports.
And the challenger wants self-proclaimed 'Best Ever' Mayweather to prove his greatness by coming out of retirement to take on the winner rather than pursuing a cross-code meeting with UFC star Conor McGregor.
"I feel like if Floyd comes back he should fight the winner of this match-up," said Porter, whose sole defeat in 28 bouts to date was inflicted on points by Britain's Kell Brook.
"I'm excited to get in there and not get it, to control the ring and the fight and to take home the WBA title."
Thurman is calling Saturday's showdown "the best fight of the best" and is determined to keep alive his dream of unifying the 147lbs-division.
"This is what the boxing fans want to see," he said. "I truly believe you are looking at two of the best welterweights in the world. It's obvious we are the two most exciting and devastating fighters in the division.
"It's always been my dream to be the undisputed champion of the world. I'm looking forward to a great performance.
"There is a burning desire within myself to have a knockout victory. It's hard to make world-class fighters quit.
"There are real stakes on the line this Saturday. Our careers are on the line, my title is on the line, my undefeated record is on the line.
"I do believe that with each and every fight you step up, you step up and step up. We're trying to satisfy the fans, and we're trying to push ourselves and see where we fit in - how great we really are."
